BMW And Aprilia Dominate Masterbike Test

The annual Masterbike test conducted by an international group of motorcycle journalists assembled in Spain has just been completed. All nine production superbikes from Japan and Europe, including 1000cc fours and 1200cc v-twins, were thoroughly tested at the same track.

First and second place, respectively, went to the new BMW S1000RR and the Aprilia RSV4 Factory. The Japanese superbikes were swept aside by these stunning European weapons, both of which MD has recently tested here in the States. We will be posting these tests soon…and we can’t say that we disagree with the Masterbike results.

  • Umm…Forgetting someone are we? MV Agusta may have slipped from 1st place in 2007 to 3rd place this year, but they STILL beat ALL the Japanese manuf., and they have a microscopic amount of resources compared to BMW and Piaggio.  – John
  • I’ve got 20,000 nearly maintenance-free miles on my ’06 CBR1000RR. I’ll be very interested to see what kind of reliability they get out of the tuned-to-the-max BMW grenade. And the results of the Aprilia RSV4 are tainted due to the engine recall  Christopher
