Dungey Grabs Second Rockstar Energy Fast Lap Bonus Point at Budds Creek

MORGANTOWN, W.V. (June 24, 2010) – The first three rounds of the Rockstar Energy Fast Lap competition produced three fast laps laid down by three different riders. Last weekend at the MotoTees.com Budds Creek National, Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey became the first rider to repeat in 2010, laying down the fastest lap of the final 450 Class moto and capturing his second bonus point of the season.

It was previous fast lap recipient Andrew Short who got out to the early lead aboard his Honda Red Bull Racing machine at Budds Creek, round four of the Lucas Oil Motocross Championship, thanks to the holeshot, but Dungey capitalized on a good start of his own and quickly made the move for the lead. From there, he extended his advantage over the field, laying down a time of 2:01.398 on the fifth lap of competition en route to his third consecutive overall victory.

With the standings currently consisting of just three riders, Dungey now grabs the early advantage with two points versus Short and Jagermeister KTM’s Mike Alessi’s single point.
