The 2010 Lucas Oil Motocross championship wrapped up at a new venue earlier this weekend, the Pala Raceway in San Diego County, California. 450 class champion Ryan Dungey (Suzuki) once again won both motos and, in the process, broke Ricky Carmichael’s record for the most successful rookie year outdoors, in terms of both wins and total points. Finishing second overall was Honda’s Andrew Short with a 3/2, while Brett Metcalfe (Honda) was third overall with a 2/3.
In the 250 class, the rider who has led the points nearly all season, Christophe Pourcel (Kawasaki) dislocated his shoulder in the first moto, and did not ride the second moto. This opened the door for Trey Canard (Honda) to take the championship with a 4/3 outing (third overall on the day). Dean Wilson (Kawasaki) took the overall win with a 1/1, while teammate Tyla Rattray was second overall with a 2/2.

I noticed that South Africa is not listed as an entry?
Is there any news regarding this?
Tyla Rattray has been performing well…
Gareth Swanepoel made a guest appearance at the last 2 AMA outdoor races, so I thought he was getting used to the climate, time zone and competition in preparation for the Motocross of Nations…
