Ducati’s Casey Stoner won at Phillip Island earlier this weekend for the fourth time in a row at his home race. Stoner led every lap from pole position, and finished with a large gap over second place Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha) and third place Valentino Rossi (Yamaha). Rossi had a lengthy battle with Stoner’s teammate Nicky Hayden that went down to the wire. Hayden finished in fourth position, less than 1/10th of a second behind Rossi.
Lorenzo has already secured this year’s championship. There are two races remaining. For additional details, results and points, visit the official MotoGP site.
Good to see Jorge beat the MotoGP bully Rossi 🙂
EXCELLENT battle between Rossi and Hayden. Next year with Rossi on a Duc – Hoo Doggie!
That was some great racing. Rossi’s first pass on Hayden did look a bit harsh but the second was fair.
Very impressed with Hayden in the post race interview, Lorenzo would have been crying like a little baby at those passes.
Rossi has been pulling out some, “less than clean” passes of late
That was some of the best racing I’ve seen from Hayden since he came over to moto gp. Who knew you just had to get him mad! If Rossi would have broken away earlier he would have caught Lorenzo too, just to show him he could.I agree with Mack motorcycle racing is the greatest form of racing.
The final 3 laps with Rossi and Hayden battling were absolutely amazing. My heart was racing by the time those two crossed the finish line. That was the essence of why motorcycle racing is one of the greatest forms of racing we have today.
