James Stewart (Yamaha) won his first race in two months last evening in St. Louis to further tighten the championship, which now sees five riders within 20 points of the lead with three races remaining. Finishing second and third behind Stewart were Ryan Dungey (Suzuki) and current points leader Ryan Villopoto (Kawasaki), respectively. The other championship points contenders, Chad Reed (Honda) and Trey Canard (Honda) finished in fourth and fifth position, respectively.
Justin Barcia (Honda) won another race to extend his points lead in the Eastern Region Lites division. Ryan Sipes (Yamaha) and Blake Baggett (Kawasaki) finished in second and third place,respectively, behind Barcia.

I do think he’ll need some luck in order to win the title, although it’s possible.
