MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (May 25, 2011) – In conjunction with the ongoing celebration of the 40th season of American Motocross, MX Sports Pro Racing, and Alli, the Alliance of Action Sports, announce a unique new partnership with Pipeline Digital Media. AlliSports.com, the official website of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, is the new home to the most historical motocross footage over the past four decades of the world’s most prestigious motocross series.
Pipeline Digital Media are the producers of the highly acclaimed Motocross Files television show, as well as numerous historical motocross videos, including One Chance to Win and The Saddleback Massacre. The company is widely respected as the market leader in historical motocross video production and archiving.
In order to showcase some of the history, stories and battles from the past, this unique new partnership will feature a bi-weekly video blog with some of the best stories from the Pipeline archive. The videos will be hosted on AlliSports.com and are the definitive source for capturing the deep history of American Motocross.
“We are very excited to partner with the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship and open up more access to all of these stories and content that we have compiled,” said Todd Huffman, of Pipeline Digital Media. “Some of the stories are pretty darn funny, while others are just plain gnarly. But regardless, we will be posting a few each week, and hope that, both new and old fans alike will enjoy the content”.
“Anyone who knows Todd Huffman and his team’s work on the Motocross Files know how much knowledge they have about motocross, and how much heart they put into their programs,” said MX Sports Pro Racing’s Davey Coombs. “I am a huge fan of everything they do, and everyone involved in the series, and the sport in general, owe a debt of gratitude to Pipeline Digital Media for their work in bringing these great American Motocross stories back to the forefront. We are really pleased to be showcasing this work during such a pivotal year for the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.”
With a nod towards history, the first video hosted on the site is a story of three-time AMA 125cc Champion Mark Barnett and the trip he made with his mother to California to race the opening round of his first professional season back in the late seventies. Needless to say, “The Bombers” mother was not thrilled with his choice of music for the entire trip, as viewers will come to find upon watching the feature. Additionally, the captivating showdown between Marty Smith and Bob Hannah at Hangtown in 1976 is also featured.
Barnett’s story and the Smith vs. Hannah battle are just the first of many to make their way onto the World Wide Web throughout the summer, and enthusiasts all over the world will have the one-of-a-kind opportunity to get an in-depth look at the illustrious history of the sport.
