Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship – Series Statistical Report

Rockstar Energy Unadilla National

Unadilla – New Berlin, N.Y. – August 13

  • Unadilla was a part of the inaugural AMA Pro Motocross Championship in 1972.
  • Unadilla has some of the most uniquely named obstacles in the country like the Gravity Cavity, the Wall and the Skyshot.
  • Scheduled the week following the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National Motocross Championship, Unadilla will be the site of several riders’ professional debut. Justin Bogle leads that group of riders, competing as a member of GEICO Honda.
  • Ryan Dungey and Chad Reed have took the overall win the past two seasons at Unadilla.
  • Ryan Villopoto is the third rider to carry the red plate in the 450 Class this season. This marks just the second time in 2011 that the points lead has changed hands however, as both Reed and Dungey shared the distinction following the opening round.
  • Justin Barcia will make his 450 Class debut this weekend, filling in for American Honda. He will ride for the team the remainder of the season.
  • Only nine points separate Ryan Villopoto from Ryan Dungey and Chad Reed in the 450 Class standings.
  • Ryan Dungey’s 450 Class win at Washougal was the 13th of his career, putting him into a tie for 8th all-time. He already sits inside the top 10, after just a year-and-a-half of premier class competition.
  • With a runner-up finish at Washougal, Ryan Villopoto has finished on the podium in nine of his 10 career starts.
  • Ryan Villopoto is the only rider in either class to finish on the overall podium at each round this season.
  • 250 Class points leader Dean Wilson has finished second overall in five of eight rounds this summer. He has yet to win an overall.
  • Wilson has the most points of any rider in the series across both classes, despite not having an overall win to his credit. He also boasts the best finishing average in the series.
  • Blake Baggett boast a series-leading eight moto wins and five overall victories this season.
  • Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki has won every 250 Class moto and overall of the 2011 season.

450 Class Stats

  • The first race held at Unadilla was July 16, 1972. Gary Jones won on a Yamaha.

  • Unadilla has been used for Inter-Am events, Trans-Am events, and US GP’s in the 1970’s and 1980’s. The track hosted a 500cc national in 1976, 1977, 1989, 1990 and 1991.
