Championship points leader Carlos Checa (Ducati) won the first race at the Nurburgring on Sunday, followed by Marco Melandri (Yamaha) in second and Noriyuki Haga (Aprilia) in third. A wet race two was shortened to just 13 laps when the rain became too heavy, and Tom Sykes emerged with the win, the first WSB win for Kawasaki since 2006. Finishing second and third in race two were Sylvain Guintoli (Ducati) and Jakub Smrz (Ducati), respectively.
Checa has a large points lead in the series with just three rounds remaining. For additional details, results and points, visit the official WSB site.
Who knows who would have won if the race went the distance. Good for you Tom, a wins a win.
