Carlos Checa (Ducati) gained his first WSB title earlier today with a double race win at Magny-Cours. Second in both races was Marco Melandri (Yamaha), who has signed to race a BMW in WSB next year. Completing the podium in Race 1 was Leon Haslam (BMW), while Eugene Laverty (Yamaha) finished third in Race 2. There is one round remaining in the series.

Congrats Checa and Ducati. They’re not underdogs in this class, but without them it’s just a series for fours. Hope Ducati changes their mind on where to put their resources and what to do with their trellis frame for 12.
Pretty good race. Carlos Checa finally gets his World Championship, with style. Max would have tried his best but this season, it probably wouldn’t have been enough. Congratulations Carlos and Ducati, well done!
