Defending champ Ryan Villopoto (Kawasaki) won his second race of the year in Anaheim last evening and took the points lead in the series after five rounds. Filling out the podium were James Stewart (Yamaha) in second and Chad Reed (Honda) in third.

Not as exciting a race as the one before, but not bad, either.
I like seeing close racing, too, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the riders were giving a talking-to about all of the takeouts of last year that, quite frankly, spoiled some up-to-that-point good racing.
The heat races had some good bar to bar action. It seems like the guys are reluctant to battle in the main. Last season had the leaders taking themselves out a couple of times. This season it looks like they are satisfied with 2nd or 3rd to keep from going from Hero to zero. Still a good race & thanks MD for reporting it, & all the other stuff you do!
