Tom Sykes (Kawasaki) took the win ahead of second place Carlos Checa (Ducati) and third place Sylvain Guintoli (Ducati). Championship contender Marco Melandri (BMW) was injured in a first lap crash and scored no points today. We will update you on his condition.
In Race 2, Eugene Laverty (Aprilia) took the win ahead of Jonathan Rea (Honda) and championship leader Max Biaggi (Aprilia), in second and third, respectively.
Biaggi leads Sykes by 30.5 points, with one round remaining. For additional details, results and points visit the official WSB site here.
As a Canadian fan it was nice to hear Brett McCormick’s name so often.
just wanna say thanks to speed for NOT airing the penultimate races of the season in their normal sunday “prime” slots.
Biaggi will probably keep it together and bag in enough points, but I’m still rooting for Sykes.
