Team Suzuki Press Office – January 14. Adrián Bonastre has re-signed with Team Suzuki Speed Racing to contest the 2013 Spanish CEV Superbike Championship onboard the GSX-R1000.
The 26-year-old Spaniard showed speed and consistency throughout the 2012 season, taking two main victories at the Albacete round and also the Stock Extreme title.
Said Bonastre: “I’m very happy that the team and Suzuki trust me. Jose Regaña’s support, the atmosphere of the Team and the potential of the GSX-R1000 made it clear to me that if I was given the opportunity to renew my contract, I would do it. I never thought of any other option. I would like to emphasise that also the good work by Dunlop with tyre development has been excellent.”
Suzuki Speed Racing Team Manager Jose Regaña added: “Results, attitude and the way he works are main arguments to keep Adrián with us. Since the last race in Valencia, the team knew they would look for his continuity; we were just waiting for Suzuki’s agreement. The GSX-R1000 and Bonastre have great potential together and in 2013 we hope to achieve great results.”
