Various European web sites are displaying a 2013 Triumph Bonneville SE with a red frame, red fenders and red racing stripe, accented by matte black (including even the rear view mirrors). It is a cool look, in our estimation. Nothing official from Triumph, yet, but the factory may make all the details known this Friday. Stay tuned.
I like it. My Bonnie was basic black, went with everything!
I like it.
I’m more interested in the Kawasaki W800 than any Bonneville, but at least Triumph finally took the kink out of the mufflers. I think Bonnies look better with spoke wheels, too.
If you’re gonna mess with two paint scheme, yellow and green please…ok I admit to being a Packers fan.
I don’t think this is real – one of those photoshop cowboys…
I just can’t dig it. The T100 looks better with the spokes and pea shooter exhausts. I’m loving the black and grey one with solo saddle and luggage rack on the rear fender.
Never quite understood the idea behind matte finishes. I much prefer gloss on vehicles. Matte looks like something applied with a rattle can.
Exactly!
If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, then its a duck!!
…maybe a confused goose….?
Just a plain Bonny, not the SE (wrong tank badge, no tach).
Edit – correct tank badge but no tach. Agree with others that the matte black tank/side covers does not look integrated. Also needs to have a matching front/rear fender/tank/side panel color scheme with the red frame (and have the stripe on the fenders too). Maybe gloss black would look better?
Yawn….ugly…..
that tank has always been oddly proportioned and this doesn’t help. One of the best parts of a Bonny was that sick ass tank they had. Of course my best guess is they can’t duplicate it as too many of us yell about wanting a bigger tank.
However the red does look nice…..
Nope. Missed the marque with this one. Triumph trades on tradition with the Bonneville line. They oughta bring out the street tracker, and if they wanna dazzle us with a cool frame, nickle plate it a la Rickman-Metisse. They could easily command a $1500 premium for that frame, and I’d think a bunch of old school purists would spring for it.
Now we’re talkin! Might take an underseat gas tank to make 5 gallons but would love to have a real cafe or street tracker.
Yes! cool idea!
That thin seat needs a smaller fuel tank. That big tank just throws the proportions off.
Photoshop privateer?
Details on Friday. Stocking up on 5 hour energy so I don’t miss a single detail. (On the interwebs it is hard to tell when someone is being sarcastic.)
I prefer stocking up on one hour nap.
Meh.
whoo hooo, red paint! its still the same heavy slow bike its always been.
Its about time for some “Bold New Graphics!”.
I second the idea of a tracker-style bike with a smaller tank.
Heavy slow bikes are huge sellers in the USA. So maybe they are onto something.
The red paint job is fine for those who just want that.. I would like a full, 1,000 cc engine, hydraulic lifters, belt rear drive with idler.. along with the 60’s style exhaust and sound. Now that Triumph Bonneville would be something to see. Do I see a show of hands for that?
Wait a minute, this Bonnie’s no good, where’s the USD legs, the dual disks, the monobloc calipers? Wouldn’t be fun to ride.
Now your talking ! Hydraulic lifters, and belt drive. ( make mine blue/white )
They put belt on the big twin, and shaft on the Rocket III. At least design bikes from the get go, so as to have the option of belt or chain.
I say bring on the street tracker Bonnie!
The red or other colored frames look great, but what gives with all the crappy flat paint on fenders and tanks. I think been overdone…by all the manufactures.
gotta luv the net. nothin’ like having your latest design exercise leaked before you can announce it.
Will need to see it in the flesh but looks pretty good.
IMO Great looking Trumpet.
