Imola WSB results

Kawasaki’s Tom Sykes won both races today at Imola to take the points lead in the championship. Sykes is the first Kawasaki rider to lead the WSB championship since Scott Russell 20 years ago. Finishing  second and third in Race 1 were Davide Giugliano (Aprilia) and Eugene Laverty (Aprilia). In Race 2, the podium was filled out by Jonathan Rea (Honda) in second and Sylvain Guintoli (Aprilia) in third.

Does anyone know why Speed channel stopped airing the WSBK races? maybe to make more room for Nascar? aarrggghhhh!!!

To make more room for programming that makes money.

I think it was the viewership was so low.
if you have BeIn Sport through Dish Network, you would really like it.
If I remember to set the DVR, it goes to commercials during televising but goes commercial free during the races. Same announcers and runs both superbike and the supersport race. Really good coverage.

Is that what caused Guintoli to DNF race 1? Sad to see reversal of fortune for Laverty in race 2 but understand that was a crash. Would like to see Laverty challenge more for the title, if it weren’t for inconsistency, but much of the WSS title went away due to technical failures as well.
    Dorna/Ezpleta sighting for the weekend…

aprilia have scattered 2 engines in 2 race weekends (note, they haven’t lost a single one that i’m aware of since ’09? that’s like 100-120 engines). i fear the cracks of biaggi’s absence are beginning to show. the new “austerity rules” being ushered in for the championship will not be kind to the RSV4.
