Maser (Treviso) 22 July, 2013 – Sidi Sport is mourning the loss of Italian rider Andrea Antonelli, who was killed in a crash on Sunday, July 21st, in the Supersport class race at the Moscow GP.
“We are all devastated, these are tragedies that just shouldn’t happen,” says Dino Signori, owner of Sidi Sport. “In a moment as difficult as this all the thoughts, prayers and condolences of the entire Sidi Sport staff go out to his family, his team and everyone who knew and loved him. Andrea was an excellent rider, a serious professional but also a kind, outgoing, friendly guy and this is how we want to remember him always.”
“For me Andrea was like a grandson who I loved very much for his sunny disposition and his smile, which brightened my day anytime I would meet him in the paddock,” explains Stefano Scagliarini, head of the motor sport sector for Sidi. “I was also very fond of him and admired him especially for his skills as a rider on the edge who was coming into his own enough to obtain his first World series podium. This much deserved podium could have finally come in Moscow but unfortunately this is where his life came to an end.”
