Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Partners With The Great   American Food Drive to Help Americans in Need

Great American Food Drive to Attend All 12 Rounds of the Championship

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (May 21, 2014) – MX Sports Pro Racing and the National Promoter’s Group (NPG) announced today a partnership with the Great American Food Drive (TGAFD) a national food drive benefitting Food Banks across the country, for the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing.

As a part of its 2014 America’s Food Drive National Tour, the Great American Food Drive will visit 25 events in 18 different cities, including every round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship this season. TGAFD will provide a donation booth at each National where fans can bring non-perishable food items to be distributed locally. All of the food and 100 percent of the monetary donations collected will be donated to the nearest local food banks or local food pantries to each National.

“We believe that it is important that the members of the local community who attend our events can have confidence that their food or monetary donations will stay right in their own hometown, making a difference in the lives of their neighbors who are in need of emergency food assistance,” said Chris Plumtree, President and CEO of The Great American Food Drive.

Plumtree added, “We are all very grateful to the tremendous efforts of our National Partners Lucas Oil, Protect the Harvest, Comcast-NBC, and Printscape, as well our new National Partner MX Sports in helping us in our cause to help Americans in need of assistance.”

Some of the food banks that will benefit from the national tour include the Sacramento Food Bank of California, The Food Bank of Central and North East Missouri, The Food Bank of the Rockies in Colorado, Gleaners of Indiana, The Red Cross Food Pantry of Bowling Greene and Franklin, Kentucky, The Food Pantries of Morgantown, West Virginia, The Greene County Food Bank, and many others. The Great American Food Drive® strives to bring Americans together on a local and national level to form a united front in the fight against hunger in America.

The Great American Food Drive (TGAFD) is a national food drive helping Americans who are in need of food assistance. For more information, please visit the Great American Food Drive website at www.americasfooddrive.org or the official Facebook page: www.facebook.com/TGAFD.
