450SX Class Stats: East Rutherford

This will be the seventh time the gate will drop for a 450SX Class race in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The first 450SX Class race held in East Rutherford was on June 7, 1987. Rick Johnson won the race aboard a Honda.

From ’87-’91, the East Rutherford 450SX Class race was held in Giants Stadium. The championship would not return to East Rutherford until ’14 in MetLife Stadium, which was built right next to where Giants Stadium was located. Giants Stadium was demolished in ’10.

Honda dominated Giants Stadium by winning all five 450SX Class races held there. Ryan Villopoto took the victory at the first-ever race at MetLife Stadium last year.

Honda has recorded eight of the possible 18 podium spots in East Rutherford, including a Honda sweep in the ’88 race with Johnson, George Holland, and Jeff Leisk.

Three of the six 450SX Class winners in East Rutherford have gone onto win the 450SX Class Championship that season: ’88 Johnson, ’89 Jeff Stanton, and ’14 Villopoto are the riders to have accomplished this feat.

Johnson and Stanton are tied for the most 450SX Class wins in East Rutherford with two each. Jean Michael-Bayle and Villopoto each have one.

Suzuki, Yamaha, KTM, and Husqvarna are all looking for their first 450SX Class victories in East Rutherford.

450SX Class: Santa Clara Recap

Ryan Dungey cruised to his 21st career 450SX Class victory in Santa Clara. It was his seventh win of the season, which is a new 450SX Class career record for him.

With his win, Dungey now sits eighth on the all-time win list. He came into the Santa Clara race tied with Jeff Ward.

The victory was Dungey’s 71st career 450SX Class podium. He sits in seventh on the all-time 450SX Class podium list, four podiums behind Kevin Windham for sixth place.

The win was KTM’s 16th 450SX Class victory of all-time.

Can Dungey keep his 14-race podium streak alive in East Rutherford?

Can Dungey and Musquin combine to earn a record-setting sixth sweep of the season? The duo has finished on top of the box five times this year. That ties James Stewart and Villopoto’s ’07 record of five. The most brand sweeps in a season is nine by Honda in ’91.

Can we see a seventh different winner in the 450SX Class this year? It would be the third most different winning racers in a single 450SX Class season of all-time.

Eli Tomac earned a second-place finish in Santa Clara. It was his fourth consecutive podium, continuing his career-best 450SX Class podium streak. Tomac now has 11 career 450SX Class podiums.

Making his 68th career 450SX Class start, Weston Peick grabbed his first-career 450SX Class podium with a third. It was his fifth top-five finish of the season.

The three rookies (Jason Anderson, Cole Seely and Blake Baggett) finished four, five, and six in Santa Clara respectively. Seely is looking for his second 450SX Class victory, while Anderson and Baggett are still looking for their first career 450SX Class victories. Could East Rutherford be the place?

Anderson earned a fourth-place finish in Santa Clara. It was his third top-five of the season and 12th top-10 finish.

Seely finished fifth for his sixth consecutive top-five finish and ninth overall top-five finish of the season.

Baggett earned his 11th top-10 finish of the season with a sixth. It was his best finish since a podium in Daytona.

Justin Brayton rode to a seventh-place finish in Santa Clara. It was his best finish of the season, and he now has a top-10 in three of the past four races after missing nine weeks in-a-row with an injury.

Chad Reed, making his 185th career 450SX Class start came back from 21st to finish eighth in Santa Clara. It was his 13th top-10 finish of the season.

Reed continues to ride at an up-front pace, but can’t put a complete Main Event together since the first Atlanta. He is looking to become the fourth rider in 450SX Class history to win 45 450SX Class races. Can he do it in East Rutherford?

Andrew Short earned a ninth-place finish. It was his 10th top-10 finish of the season. He now has a top-10 in four of the past five races.

Making his 183rd career 450SX Class start, Nick Wey finished 10th for his first top-10 finish since Las Vegas of ’12.

250SX Class Stats: East Rutherford

This will be the seventh time the gate will drop for a 250SX Class race in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The first 250SX Class race held in East Rutherford was on June 7, 1987. Keith Turpin won on a Suzuki.

The 250SX Class race was held in Giants Stadium from ’87-’91. Giants Stadium was demolished in ’10 and when the 250SX Class series returned to East Rutherford in ’14, the race was held in MetLife Stadium.

A 250SX Class rider has never won the East Rutherford race twice. Justin Bogle could become the first rider to do this, since he won the ’14 race.

The rider to win the 250SX Class race in East Rutherford went on to win, or had already clinched, the 250SX Class Eastern Regional Championship four straight times.

250SX Class: East Rutherford Wins By Brand

250SX Class: St. Louis Recap

Musquin raced to his ninth career 250SX Class victory and fifth of the season. It was his 18th career 250SX Class podium in just 26 career 250SX Class starts. He has a top-two finish in each 250SX Class Eastern Regional race this season.

Can Musquin clinch the Eastern Regional 250SX Class Championship in East Rutherford? He hasn’t finished outside of the top-two all season.

Jeremy Martin finished second in St. Louis for his seventh career 250SX Class podium. He now has 13 top-five finishes in his 18 career 250SX Class starts, and has four podiums on the season.

Martin is looking for his third career 250SX Class win in East Rutherford. Near the end of an up-and-down season for him, he still sits in second in the championship standings.

Joey Savatgy earned his second podium of the season and third of his 250SX Class career in St. Louis with a third-place finish. He now has 12 top-10 finishes in 15 career 250SX Class starts.

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki is in danger of being shut-out from winning a race for the first time since ’01.

Bogle finished off the podium for the first time in the Eastern Regional 250SX Class with a fourth place finish. It was his 19th career 250SX Class top-five finish in 24 career 250SX Class starts. He also has 22 career 250SX Class top-10 finishes in those 24 starts.

Bogle is looking for a victory as he makes his 25th career 250SX Class start in East Rutherford.

Anthony Rodriguez has now earned back-to-back 250SX Class career-best fifth-place finishes with his fifth in St. Louis. He now has five 250SX Class top-10 finishes in just nine career 250SX Class starts.

Jimmy Decotis landed his 22nd career 250SX Class top-10 finish with a sixth place in St. Louis. It was his fifth straight top-10 finish and he has finished in the top-six four of the past five Eastern Regional 250SX Class races.

Luke Renzland recorded his 250SX Class career best seventh-place finish in St. Louis. It was his second career top-10 finish in five career 250SX Class races.

Kyle Cunningham earned his 48th career 250SX Class top-10 finish with an eighth place in St. Louis. It was his third straight top-10 finish of the Eastern Regional 250SX Class season.

Jace Owen rode to his 250SX Class career best ninth-place finish. It was his third straight top-10 finish of the season and ninth career 250SX Class start.

Kyle Peters rounded out the top-10 in St. Louis. It was his 10th career top-10 finish in 24 career 250SX Class starts.

250SX Class Stats: Tracking Yamaha and Cooper Webb

Yamaha earned their seventh win of the season with Webb’s victory in Santa Clara. It was the third time Yamaha has won seven 250SX Class races in one season.

Yamaha’s best 250SX Class season was nine wins in ’97 and ’01.

Webb has six wins this season, tying Yamaha greats Damon Bradshaw, Windham, Reed, and Ernesto Fonseca for 250SX Class wins on a Yamaha in a single season.

Webb has six career wins, tying him with Bradshaw, Jeff Emig, and Reed on the all-time 250SX Class win list.

Out of 31 seasons of 250SX Class racing, Honda has been shut-out from winning three times. Kawasaki three times, Suzuki eight times, and Yamaha 10 times. Kawasaki is currently in danger of having their fourth season of being shut-out.
