This looks like a well produced, interesting documentary covering MotoGP racing and its current stars. Narrated by Brad Pitt, it could conceivably spur needed interest in motorcycles and motorcycle racing here in the United States. Unfortunately, at present, this appears to be headed for UK distribution only. Before you look at the movie trailer below, read this quote from the movie’s promotion:
“Follow the intense rivalry between Valentino Rossie and Jorge Lorenzo, and explore the great friendship between Rossi and Marco Simoncelli, the rising star who tragically lost his life on the track. Marvel at the meteoric rise of young rookie, Marc Marquez, as he takes the sport by storm, despite suffering numerous injuries and enduring the fastest ever MotoGP crash.”
You can order the DVD on Amazon UK with only a small shipping charge. Release date is in September.
…but it may not play on US (Region 1) DVD players.
Oh I see you dont put any new posts. Have you noticed your decline in page hits. Motorcycledaily will probably die a slow painful death if you dont keep up with the rest of the sites.
?
Now, now Jeremy, don’t go throwing peanuts into his cage, he may awaken.
Sorry Dog, accidentally reported you. Geez, why don’t they move those further apart.
Anyhow figure mkv was put in awaiting moderation or something and he’s not used to it
Someone will put it on Youtube, then we can stream it to our TV’s. Done and done…
I’d go to a theater to see it, and I haven’t gone out to the movies since the first Hangover movie.
I was just trying to recall the last time I had a handover at the movies. 🙂
Talk about colour and speed…wow.
Moto GP is so absurdly controlling and possessive of all the videos and images of the sport that it is destroying any chances of expanding interest in it. Why exactly do such videos have to make it to the general public via a movie in this age of instant videos? It’s nuts.
(Not that very high production values via the best equipment is not great. Assuming that is what this movie has. Why Moto GP has not begged for IMAX treatment is a crime)
this is the age of the internet. distribution means little, it will be on netflix or other sites before we know it.
Well it will be available on DVD so if one wants to see it they should have an opportunity.
And the dumbing down of America continues as we worship the holy grail of Sturgis…Dah.
And NASCAR.
Sturgis, Nascar and Donald Trump.. What does the rest of the world really think of us?
It’s often not very flattering.
Harley-Davidson
All of Mark Neale’s MotoGP movies are great. Faster, Fastest, Doctor, Tornado, Kentucky Kid, etc. Great cinematography, great storytelling. All his past films have made it to the US, hopefully this one does soon as well.
I would have figured that to be fiction, when was the last time you saw 26 in front of 93
Lol rare to see anyone in front of Marquez especially last year, but # 26 has won 4 GPs since Marquez became his Repsol team mate.
The Trailer looks like a Hollywood production with the emphasis on crash scenes. It ought to do wonders for Moto GP attendance. Will it create more riders? First you have to get them in the tent.
