Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo showed no signs of “taking it easy” as he prepares for Sunday’s race where title rival Valentino Rossi will start at the back of the grid. Lorenzo was the fastest man during today’s two practice sessions (combined time) with the Honda factory riders, Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa, slotting in behind him.
Rossi was fifth quickest on the day … not a bad start for the rider who normally eases into the weekend.
The Honda riders are complaining about front tire grip that deteriorates after just a few laps. Indeed, and ironically, Marc Marquez indicated he may need to ride a Phillip Island-like race, where he varied the pace to allow his front tire to periodically cool down.
We will post a report on qualifying results tomorrow.
See more of MD’s great photography:
I just watched JLo smoke em’ to a record pole and he’s going to be tough to beat. I saw JLo shake MM’s hand afterwards, along with Nakamoto’s, so the conspiracy theorists will undoubtedly point to this as proof of skullduggery. GEEZ!
‘Skullduggery’ is a great word. It deserves more run.
:polite golf clap:
It really is ashamed for for the season to end this way. But, I’ll be up at 06:30 my time tomorrow to watch the outcome.
It will just be fun watching Rossi cutting through the field.
Nice pic Dirck. When I bigify the image it’s like he’s gonna ride right into my lap.
Go JLo……
I knew Lorenzo rode with one red boot and one white boot. Never realized his gloves and shoulder pads followed suit.
Kinda cool, actually. Great pic.
Get the Moto GP package, you’ll see so much it’s amazing.
Sounds like everyone’s preparing for a ‘what if’ outcome on Sunday – ‘the shine’ does somehow seem to have been taken off of it…
Grumps
…and the Rossi sheep continue to blame Marquez for things that have not happened yet.
right on Joe, they’re so blind. Rossi could kill a busload of school children and his fans would still find it reasonable…
Well, I certainly can’t argue with this kind of logic.
Only if you count MM as one of those children, spoiled lil brat that he is.
So MM is already laying the foundation to explain his erratic riding during Sunday’s race. That’s smart.
Guess Crutchlow is now in on holding Rossi back because he said the same thing
