RedBud Historical Package

Lucas Oil Pro MX_062816

  • This season will mark the 43rd running of the RedBud National, which was first contested in 1974.
  • RedBud is home to one of the most iconic obstacles in American motocross – Larocco’s Leap. Named for Hall of Famer and local hero Mike LaRocco, this 120-foot uphill triple jump has thrilled fans and challenged riders for over two decades.
  • RedBud’s distinction as the sport’s Independence Day celebration has been a tradition that dates back to 1978.
  • Since 1974, there have been only five international winners at RedBud across both classes – Grant Langston, Chad Reed, Ken Roczen, Stephane Roncada, and Sebastien Tortelli. Roczen is the only one to win in both classes.
