Revved-Up Women Texas Motorcycle Exposition

(San Antonio, TX) – Join nationally-known women motorcyclists at Revved-Up Women—Texas Motorcycle Expo April 28-30, at Retama Park, near San Antonio, TX. Attendees will enjoy guided rides, workshops and panel discussions by recognized leaders in the motorcycle industry, beginner and advanced rider classes, a fashion show, and a free Sunday brunch.

“It’s a combination rally, conference and tradeshow for experienced and new riders,” said Teresa Kelly, spokesperson for the inaugural family-friendly event. “It’s also unique in that it will offer women and girls who have never ridden a bike before the chance to experience this amazing sport safely and enjoyably.”

Among the highlights will be two panel discussions among leading motorcycle media, industry executives and riders about whether brands are meeting the needs of women, and if not, how they might improve. Moderated by Genevieve Schmitt, editor and publisher of Women Riders Now and considered a leading voice in women’s motorcycling, the panel includes women executives from Polaris, Harley-Davidson, BMW, and motorcycle media.

Champion motorcycle racer Shelina Moreda and her professional She’z Moto coaches will be on hand to provide “Kickstart” motorcycle riding introduction and advanced courses for ages 10 and up. Most recently she won the women’s championship in Qatar and scored a podium finish in China in the (men’s) Superbike race.

More than 16 workshops will include presentations by:

  • Brittany Morrow, international Rock the Gear safety expert
  • Genevieve Schmitt, editor and publisher of Women Riders Now
  • Krystal Hess, owner of Ricochet Custom and founder of Motorcycle Missions
  • Jen Dalton, The Litas international motorcycle group

Fiesta Circle for Life Ride

The first 100 people to register for the expo will get free ticket to participate in Fiesta San Antonio’s Circle for Life escorted motorcycle ride fundraiser to raise awareness of the need for organ donations. The 85-mile ride on April 29 begins in Bourne, TX, and ends at Retama Park. Major event sponsor Edwards Motorcycle Law is underwriting the free ride passes with a $5,000 donation to the charity, and will also be providing a free fiesta lunch for all expo ticket holders who participate in the ride.

“We hope to make this an annual event to promote safe motorcycle riding as something the whole family can participate in and enjoy,” said Billy Edwards, of the Edwards Law Firm, which has offices in Corpus Christi and San Antonio.

The Cody Bryan Band will play on Friday night, and LC Rocks will play on Saturday night.
