Team Suzuki Press Office – April 22. Following this morning´s accident when Alex Rins broke his wrist, he underwent further medical treatments at the University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin. They aimed to stabilize his fracture before transferring him to his hometown in Spain.
At his arrival at the University Medical Center Brackenridge, Rins was evaluated both by the orthopaedic and trauma surgery team and they confirmed a displaced fracture to his left wrist. The team led by Dr. Austin Hill, Orthopedic Traumatologist at the University Medical Center Brackenridge, took him to the operating room and “set his broken wrist and temporarily fixed it with pins. After that he will be able to be flown back home to Spain, and once the swelling is decreased he will be able to undergo his definitive surgery. Everything went very well, he is comfortable and he will likely leave the hospital today”.
