Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki) continued his dominance of the WSB series at Misano this weekend by taking both wins. In Race 1, Rea established a substantial lead over second place Chaz Davies (Ducati) before crossing the line for the win. Eugene Laverty (Aprilia) finished third.
As winner of Race 1, Rea was gridded at the start of Race 2 in his handicap position (9th), but was still able to take a much narrower victory over Yamaha’s Michael van der Mark in second place and Ducati’s Marco Melandri in third.
Rea extends his already massive points lead in the championship. You will find full results to Race 1 here, and Race 2 here. For additional details and points, visit the official WSB site.

Rea’s dominance reminds me of Matt Mladins in the early 2000’s in AMA Superbike. Mostly Mladins show. Once in a while someone else would win. Just like WSBK now with Rea. But it wasn’t enough to make a difference. Until Ben Spies stepped up. Someone will. Not sure who at this point.
I hope the V4 of Ducati makes a difference next year. Or 2 more seasons of this…
Like others are saying, someone needs to challenge Rea to make this exciting. He’s a fantastic rider and beautiful to watch, but some challenge would be good.
Yes, the results are predictable, but watching Rea driving it’s a pleasure
Nothing to see here, move along…
I continue to be impressed with Rea’s riding, but this series has become way too predictable.
