Less than two weeks after arm pump surgery, rookie Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) secured his second MotoGP pole position at the Catalunya circuit earlier today. Tomorrow’s front row will consist of Quartararo, Marc Marquez (Honda) and Maverick Viñales (Yamaha). Yamaha took four of the top five qualifying positions for tomorrow’s race.

in FP4, the commentary by the announcers, was interesting. saying that both the yamaha and suzuki had the best handling, because of their inline 4 engine design, and that ducati and honda had good hp because of the V4 arrangements. Lots of other discussion about the riders, and what everyone thinks about why who is slow, or fast, and why its that way. Not that I believe everything they purported in their discussion, but food for thought. Especially how Yamaha has tried a multitude of things, to get their bike to “hook up”, as Rossi still seems to be lacking in how the bike feels. That both of the second tier Petronas yamaha’s are doing well, makes one think, are last years bikes better?
