It was a race of unkowns at Spielberg’s Red Bull Ring, where Team Trentino Gresini MotoE had to tackle a five-lap “sprint race” which was held in mixed conditions.
After qualifying in seventh place, Matteo Ferrari got a good start and looked at times capable to battle for the podium. A small mistake a turn three kind of ruined his top-three hopes, but the Italian did well in make up partially for the error and finish fifth.
Lorenzo Savadori also had an encouraging race following the DNF at Sachsenring: the former STK1000 champion finished tenth and can now look ahead at the next race in Misano – taking place in a month’s time – with fresh confidence.
