A low-noise and low-emission series that has made a lot of buzz in Germany: the MotoE has surprised for speed and appeal at the Sachsenring in Germany last month, and it is now time for round two at Spielberg in Austria.
Among the big protagonists of the new category there is surely Team Trentino Gresini MotoE: not only in a negative way due to Lorenzo Savadori’s unfortunate crash – which was triggered by Granado – but also with Matteo Ferrari’s speed and consistency as the young Italian was fifth at the finish line in the first-ever encounter for the series.
Next on the agenda is a completely-new track for both riders (neither of them have raced before at the venue near Spielberg) as Ferrari and Savadori will be able to use the extra free practice session – scheduled for Saturday at 8:30. The goal will be to keep growing and improving while covering as many kms as possible and understanding a demanding bike – especially under braking and mid-turn.
MotoE proceedings will begin on Friday at 11:50 with FP1, while the race will be again underway at 10am local time (GMT+2) on Sunday.
