Despite a nasty, and painful, crash during FP3, Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) earned his 10th pole position in the MotoGP category earlier today at Aragón. Joining him on the front row will be Maverick Viñales (Yamaha) and Cal Crutchlow (Honda).
You can see a video of Quartararo’s pole lap, as well as his FP3 crash below. Quartararo will start tomorrow’s race with a 10 point lead in the championship over Joan Mir (Suzuki), who qualified 6th. Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) tested positive for Covid-19 prior to this weekend, and will miss tomorrow’s race as well as the following weekend’s race.

FQ did an amazing job of qualifying after that high side. Reminds you of another tough rider that happens to be out from a more serious injury right now.

Very lucky he didn’t hit his head. No concussion to deal with.
Hard crash. He’ll be feeling it. These guys are animals, though. I doubt he will let the pain distract him from his performance much if at all.
Like Dirck said, he’s lucky he didn’t whop his head and get ruled out of the race.
