KTM Will Assist MV Agusta With Distribution of Motorcycles in North America (Press Release)

You might have to stop complaining about the sparse MV Agusta dealer network in the United States. KTM and MV Agusta have signed an agreement which will see KTM “create a dedicated US-based legal entity, which will be in charge of all MV Agusta operations in North America.” MVs in KTM dealerships? It’s coming.

Varese, 20 September 2022 – MV Agusta and KTM AG, a subsidiary of PIERER Mobility AG, have signed a commercial agreement for the distribution of the iconic Schiranna motorcycles in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

The deal, extending over several years, focuses on the distribution, the promotion and customer service of the MV Agusta range of motorcycles by KTM AG’s North American subsidiary. On one hand, the strength of the brand and the exclusivity of its motorcycles, a symbol of Italy’s design and engineering excellence, and on the other hand KTM AG’s extensive and solid commercial organization, will support the growth of MV Agusta in the North American region.

The agreement is part of MV Agusta’s strategic plan, which envisions a significant growth in the coming years. KTM AG group will create a dedicated US-based legal entity, which will be in charge of all MV Agusta operations in North America. Going forward, MV Agusta motorcycles will be distributed through both, select KTM AG dealers as well as existing and new MV Agusta stores.

    Wow, KTM cannot even deliver their own product line without damaging them in transit. This will be interesting…

    For all of you that find geography chanllenging, KTM’s are manufactured and based in Austria not Australia. Austria is part of Europe and Australia is actually a continent on its own. My goodness.

    In the motorcycle marketing race, KTM has the holeshot and is pulling away. The Japanese, H-D and maybe even Ducati might be eating Australian dust for years to come.

    It’s great that MV Agusta will now be available via KTM dealerships. But did they have to partner with a brand whose own dealerships are also few and far between?

    Some KTM dealerships are so small, or limited, that they may not even have the KTM models in stock that one is looking for. Are these dealerships even going to have room for MV’s? Or is a KTM dealership that caters to dirt riders going to even want to have to deal with a high-end street motorcycle?

    Just because an alliance makes something more available does not make it more affordable. That includes the entire cost of ownership. So let it be ridden. So let it be fun.
