Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey continued his impressive run through his rookie season in the 450 class by taking another overall win at Unadilla, New York, with perfect 1/1 moto finishes. Second overall went to a visiting MX1 rider from Europe, Clement Desalle (Suzuki). Desalle finished behind Dungey in each moto with a 2/2. Third overall went to Brett Metcalfe (Honda) with a 5/3.
Much hype surrounded the return of Yamaha’s James Stewart to racing following a wrist injury suffered months ago. Stewart was able to finish in third position in the first moto, but withdrew from the second moto early on, apparently due to fatigue.
In the 250 class, Trey Canard (Honda) took the overall with a 1/2 ahead of Justin Barcia (Honda) in second (3/5) and Dean Wilson (Kawasaki) in third (6/3). Points leader Christophe Pourcel (Kawasaki) won the second moto after crashing out of the first moto.
