This Weekend’s Paris Supercross Previews Year 2000 Rivalries

The Paris Supercross this weekend is a two day event – the biggest, annual Supercross event in Europe. The Paris Supercross has it all, including the world’s best riders, freestyle jump contest (I believe Paris was the first to feature this), fireworks, beautiful women, and, of course, great racing.

Featuring two nights of main events (both 125 and 250) – the annual winners are crowned King of Bercy (250 champion) and Prince of Bercy (125 champion) based on overall scores for the two nights. This year, the Paris race features some of the best riders from the United States and Europe, including Jeremy McGrath, Kevin Windham, Ricky Carmichael, David Vuilleman, Ezra Lusk, Michael Pichon, and Frederick Bolley, among others.

The prize money and the prestige are high, and, for riders destined to challenge one another in the AMA Supercross Series (including McGrath, Windham, Lusk, Carmichael and Vuilleman), Paris is a chance to show your rivals that you’re faster.

Given MD’s predictions about next year’s AMA Supercross Series (see our article on October 21), this weekend’s Paris results will be very interesting indeed. We’ll post results as soon as we have them available. Stay tuned.
