Indianapolis MotoGP Results

Indianapolis hosted a round of the MotoGP championship series earlier today under very hot conditions that saw most of the riders running a hard compound rear tire from the start of the race.  Americans Ben Spies (on pole) and Nicky Hayden (gridded third) were on the front row for their home race.  Spies (Yamaha) led the first few laps before being passed by Honda’s Dani Pedrosa.  Pedrosa set a pace that no one could match, and took the win ahead of Spies in second and Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha) in third.  Hayden (Ducati) eventually finished in sixth position.

Lorenzo continues to have a very large points lead in the championship.  For additional details, results and points, visit the official MotoGP site here.
