Our story about the demise of Cycle News was accurate, but it is only fair that we report that CycleNews.com is still alive with fresh race results being posted by the likes of Shan Moore.
The iconic weekly print version is gone, however. Cycle News undoubtedly realizes there is value in the URL “CycleNews.com”, and appears to have current advertising accounts with major OEMs, such as Honda. We join our readers in hoping the Cycle News tradition continues . . . at least online.

September 17, 2010 at 7:33 amAny word on refunds of subscriptions? I dropped the paper script and bought into the digital edition. They show the Sep 8th edition on their site, Dungey wins on the cover, but it’s not available. Now it won’t even let me login to read back issues.
Disappointing.

Now I’m really pissed. No response to emails. I can log on using my past credentials, but when I click Online Edition i get the following, at least they could have kept the back issues up. Poor business.
Cycle News has ceased publication with volume XLVII, issue 35.
Please follow cyclenews.com for the latest in motorcycle news.
This partial survival of an old friend is most definitely some consolation in these changing times of print media versus electronic. We get so set in our ways over a half century it is not easy to accept/adjust from one way to the next. As they say;
That’s Progress! At least there is still a kitchen to prepare the meals, and stay warm in, for now!
I’ll start reading the old issues I’ve kept.Always knew there would be a reason for stacking ’em 50 high! Just like the old(like me) Motorcycle Weekly issues,always good to see and read “how it was”.Current on-line issues will work for now,too.

Captain 80s, I also avoid Cycle News on Sat & Sun due to race results in title. Cycle News has been a part of my life for decades and I’m very happy they will be there on-line.
I worked at a Honda dealer for 12 years… Cycle News was also a big part of my life. Thank for your comment, I will try and continue to support them as much as I can.
Excellent excellent excelent! Better that than nothing. Lets all support them. like MD, they are a great blessing to all who ride.
I stopped visiting Cyclenews.com a while ago. I don’t like how they insist on listing who won races in the title of the story. In this day of DVRs and TIVOs and busy schedules, too many races have been ruined for me. If I want just a little unrelated m/c news, I can’t go there. Been visiting Motorcycledaily ever since because of this.
Guess its time to start considering an iPad kinda device! Laptop just does not work in the “stall”!
Would love the continuation of print , but that is gone. In todays world the internet is the way of the future, glad to see the website still alive.
While a print copy would be nice it’s hard to imagine in the world we now live in. Many magazines still printed today are only fraction of their former selves.
This is great news as it has been one of my first go to’s when I fire up the computer.
I hope the print edition returns.
