Having secured the services of the legendary manager Roger DeCoster, KTM set about finding a teammate for Mike Alessi for the 2011 season. In keeping with DeCoster’s preference for self-disciplined riders, KTM has hired Honda factory star Andrew Short to move to the KTM supercross/motocross team for 2011. Short was a member of the successful Motocross of Nations team fielded by DeCoster for the United States in Colorado a few weeks ago.
Short has stated in an interview that he hopes KTM, and DeCoster, can transform his frequent podium placings into victories and championships. In addition to Short and Alessi, KTM will field MX2 World champion Marvin Musquin and Ken Roczen in the U.S. in 2011.
