Anthony Gobert’s GP Dream Over?

England’s Motorcycle News is reporting that Anthony Gobert’s one-race contract to race Kenny Robert’s 500cc, three-cylinder GP bike at Donnington Park (the bike is known as the Modenas KR3) has turned out to be just that — a one-race contract. Roberts will drop Gobert and hire another rider for the upcoming rounds of the GP championship (perhaps, former World champion Luca Cadalora).

Where does this leave Gobert? There are still rumors that Kawasaki may give Gobert a World Superbike ride, and there is still the chance that Bimota (Gobert’s employer until a few weeks ago) will find funding to finish the WSB season with Gobert aboard.

I suppose this is just another chapter in the tumultuous life of Anthony Gobert, but it would be nice to see him aboard a competitive bike in either the 500 GP or WSB series.
