We have shown you the new Aprilia Sport Tourer, called the Futura, previously. Here is another look at that new model from Aprilia (powered by a version of the 1000cc v-twin Mille motor).
The most surprising thing about Aprilia’s 2001 model line-up is the significantly re-designed RSV Mille. As the picture at the top of this page reveals, the styling of the bike is significantly changed. But this is just the beginning.
The new Mille is lighter, more powerful (a claimed increase of two horsepower at the crank), features improved fuel injection, new brakes, redistributed weight and center of gravity, stronger clutch, changed swingarm pivot location and engine mount position, increased steering rake, new fuel tank (lighter), and other changes. Whew!
The headlights have been redesigned, as have the turn signals. A new, lighter battery is featured as well.
With perfect 50/50 weight distribution, the new Mille (standard version) weighs in at 412 pounds dry.
Aprilia also debuted its new “all purpose” bike, the CapoNord (also pictured here), which also employs the big v-twin.
