Criville (500) and Perugini (250) Take Provisional Pole at Imola Grand Prix

Alex Criville (Honda) was fastest during the first day of qualifying for the Imola 500 Grand Prix. The top Honda riders seem to like Imola, with Alex Barros and John Kocinski posting the second and third fastest times. Kenny Roberts (Suzuki), Max Biaggi (Yamaha) and Tadayuki Okada (Honda) rounded out the top six provisional qualifiers for Sunday’s Grand Prix.

Stefano Perugini (Honda) surprised everyone by posting the fastest time during the first day of qualifying for the 250 Grand Prix. His Honda teammates, Loris Capirossi and Tohru Ukawa had the second and third fastest times, respectively.
