A race-long close battle between James Stewart (Yamaha) and Chad Reed (Honda) ended when the two collided with a lap remaining. The crash allowed points leader Ryan Villopoto (Kawasaki) to pass both riders and take the win. Ryan Dungey (Suzuki) also passed Reed and Stewart to take second place with Reed third and Stewart fourth.
In the second round of the Eastern Region Lites series, Dean Wilson (Kawasaki) took the win ahead of Justin Barcia (Honda) in second and Blake Baggett (Kawasaki) in third.
Villopoto and Wilson lead their respective series. For additional details, results and points, visit the official Monster Energy AMA Supercross site.
In what universe did Stewart cause that crash? Reed is a retard and proved it there. There is such a thing as a hard pass, and there was that bonehead move. Pylon…
I’ll start by saying I’m a Reed fan. I think it is VERY cool that he is mixing it up with the factory bikes. But that last lap take down was all Reed’s fault. He made a very sloppy stuffin it in block and I saw it as a move done out of possible desperation/frustration. He shouldn’t have just ran it in like that. I was pulling for Reed and was excited to see him lead by 6 seconds with a few laps to go. He had two big slip ups and then Stewart turned up the heat. I know that’s racing but I always hate to see it go down like that. Keep it clean and keep it aggressive!
This race reminded me of the AMA Daytona Sportbike when Josh Herrin and Danny Eslick went at it at Barber.
“I love Stewart and Reed and have seen both act childish in the past when trying to win races, but James caused this crash which cost Reed the win. In what seems like a change in personality, Reed took blame himself and didn’t point the finger at James. It was nice to see them not go after each other like in past years. I can’t wait for the next race!”
Holy Mackinaw!!!! For real you see it like that? Wow!
James should have shortened up the corner to keep his competitor from cutting underneath. He also had the chance to ease off, let read by and then flick right and surge back by him. But he would rather whine about it. Racin aint fair, young dude.

I seriously had to check the date you wrote this posting after I read:
“but James caused this crash which cost Reed the win”.
Not on the planet Earthh did this happen.
Which part of the solar system are you posting from?
Chad had the block pass made and James just ran right into Chad instead of letting off. It was a simple block pass and James just wouldn’t let up. There was a reason James Stewart Sr. went off on his son right after the race ended. Instead of finishing 2nd for the race and being the leader in AMA points now he 10 points out of the lead.

I think the airbags went off on that one. 🙂
