Corona, Calif. (March 10, 2011) – Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett and Dean Wilson both have one win to their credit this season and will be looking for their second win at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis this weekend. The fourth round of the AMA Supercross Lites Eastern Region heads back indoors as Baggett carries the momentum from a big win at Daytona and Wilson is hungry to stand on the podium once again.
Baggett will be entering Indianapolis with more confidence after winning both the heat and main event last weekend in Daytona. He is currently only four points behind the leader and is eager to take over the top position in the championship standings.
“I tried not to get down on myself when I got third two weeks in a row because it’s put me in position now to be close in the points race,” said Baggett. “I want to have another good weekend and remain consistent. My consistency has gotten me close and I won’t be happy until I have the points lead.”
Coming off a tough race in Daytona, Wilson expects to be back on top of the podium in Indianapolis. He has proven he is capable of racing out front and the fourth round is the perfect opportunity to show he is a championship contender.
“I’m really looking forward to Indy because it gives me a chance to redeem myself from my finish in Daytona,” said Wilson. “I know I have the speed to be out front, I just need to minimize my mistakes.”
The points race heats up as the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team heads to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. Baggett moved into second in the standings after his win with 65 points, just four points down from first. Teammate Wilson is close behind with 60 points as he holds down third in the standings.
