A reliable source tells MD that Yamaha is indeed releasing a four-stroke for the 80cc class next year. Designated YZ125F, the 125cc machine will be nestled in an updated YZ80 chassis.
Yamaha continues to expand the number of classes in which it produces a racing four-stroke, staying one or two steps ahead of the competition. A 125cc four-stroke with a modern, liquid-cooled design would form the basis for an excellent trail/play bike, as well. It could also be the off-road bike many women riders have been waiting for.
