This morning, Honda announced its 2002 CRF450R, CR250R and CR125R. Although the press and enthusiasts already know quite a bit about the new, big, four-stroke CRF450R, the two-stroke CR250R is also completely new, including a new engine and frame. Below is a brief summary from Honda of these new models. We will have more details later, and you should be able to find additional information at Honda’s website this evening.

The all new CRF450R motocross bike is in a class by itself. The liquid cooled 449cc four-stroke engine puts out class-leading horsepower and torque. Unique features like the Unicam™ engine with titanium intake valves, titanium exhaust header, and an all new third-generation twin spar aluminum frame and swingarm ensure a class leading 225 lb. dry weight. And, New Honda Racing inspired colors and graphics combine to make the new CRF450R Honda the new four-stroke technology leader on the track.

The completely new CR250R boasts a powerful new case-reed engine featuring a redesigned air intake tract and a computer-controlled RC-type exhaust valve, significantly improving low-end and over-rev power. The CR125R has undergone extensive tuning for increased power and now features a new 36mm Mikuni TMX-x flat slide carburetor. Both bikes sport an all-new third generation twin spar aluminum frame and swingarm, HRC works-type lightweight aluminum spoke nipples and a totally redesigned rear brake system. New Honda Racing inspired colors and graphics round out the package.
