Bonneville America with Various Triumph Accessories
Although looking largely like last year’s model, Triumph’s Speed Triple features many changes, both cosmetic and functional. With a reshaped fuel tank and revised tail section the most obvious cosmetic changes, the Speed Triple also features lightened components (including, a new front wheel) and a total weight reduction of approximately 15 pounds. The familiar 955cc, three-cylinder is also uprated and lighter — putting out roughly ten additional horsepower at the rear wheel.

While Triumph’s new Daytona has dropped the single-sided swingarm, the new Speed Triple will retain this design.
The Speed Triple will continue to share the basic engine specifications of Triumph’s sport touring machines, including the Sprint RS and Sprint ST. These bikes, therefore, also receive the lighter, higher-output triple for 2002.
The Bonneville America previously shown on MD will be supported by several Triumph accessories and parts, such as various seat units. The Bonneville America is clearly aimed at the custom-loving enthusiast.
Apparently, the Trophy luxury tourer line will not be revised this year, except that the 900 will be dropped.
