KTM is now known for building one of the fastest, if not the fastest, 125cc motocross bikes. It’s 250 2-stroke, however, needs some work.
An entirely new 250 will be raced in prototype form in next year’s FIM World Championships, and the bike will be available for sale in production form as a 2003 model.
KTM aims to reach the top of the heap in the 250 class as well. The bike should be ready in time for Grant Langston’s move to the 250 class, and KTM hopes to re-sign Langston after his contract expires next year.
