Rounds four and five of the AMA Superbike series occur this weekend at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, California.
Yamaha’s Anthony Gobert narrowly defeated Honda’s Nicky Hayden in last year’s lone superbike race at Sears. This year, Hayden and Gobert are battling for the points lead in the series, with Hayden in first place just 14 points ahead of second place Gobert.
Look for Gobert and Hayden to do some close racing again this year (with superbike races on both Saturday and Sunday). Keep an eye on Doug Chandler, as well. Chandler is racing his new Ducati at a familiar venue for the first time this year.
