Davey Coombs is reporting on the RacerX website that Jeremy McGrath, whose contract with Yamaha expired this year, has signed a four-year contract with KTM. Coombs indicates that McGrath will ride for two years and assist with development for another two years.
From all sources, including Ryan Hughes’ development work, Grant Langston’s test riding and McGrath’s initial tests, the new KTM 250 two-stroke motocross bike is simply awesome. Indeed, according to Grant Langston’s father (who is also his manager), Hughes compares the stock KTM 250SX motor to the last, works Honda CR250 he raced in Europe a couple of years ago.
In any event, we wish the eight-time champion McGrath, and his new employer KTM, the best of luck on their collaboration.
