Windham Busts Out in Texas Supercross

The frustrations and disappointments of Honda’s Kevin Windham exploded in a convincing race victory tonight in the Texas round of the AMA Supercross series. Windham took the lead on the first lap and never looked back, distancing himself from second place David Vuillemin (Yamaha), third place Ricky Carmichael (Kawasaki) and fourth place Jeremy McGrath (Yamaha).

McGrath crashed in the first turn and remounted at the back of the pack — making a strong run to finish fourth.

In the final round of the Western 125cc Supercross series, Yamaha’s Greg Schnell took the victory over Suzuki’s David Pingree in second, and Honda’s Chris Gosselaar in third. Kawasaki’s Shae Bentley recovered from a first turn pile up to claw his way to seventh place, just enough to take the series championship.
