Okay, so we have all heard that the 2003 WSB championship has been cheapened by the absence of virtually all of the major manufacturers’ teams, save Ducati. So, is there anything interesting about WSB 2003? Neil Hodgson is interesting.
Hodgson, who nipped at the heels of Troy Bayliss and Colin Edwards several times last year on a non-factory Ducati shod with Dunlop tires (pretty amazing, when you think about it), is now a full factory Ducati man on Michelins. As you might expect, his pre-season testing indicates he is the class of the field. No, correct that . . . he is a field of one.
Even teammate Ruben Xaus will have trouble keeping Hodgson in sight. Hodgson could conceivably win every race (the guy doesn’t crash very much, either).
If you find all this domination stuff interesting, tune in this weekend for the first race in Valencia.
