The Yoshimura Suzukis of Mat Mladin and Aaron Yates were the quickest bikes during early qualifying for this weekend’s AMA Superbike double header at California Speedway in Fontana. Mladin was a full second quicker than the quickest non-Suzuki, the Honda of Kurtis Roberts. While final qualifying will occur tomorrow morning before the first superbike race, the Suzukis already look like the bikes to beat, provided their tires last.
