Colin Edwards took yet another pole in qualifying for Sunday’s Monza, Italy round of the World Superbike Championship series. Leading qualifiers after both regular qualifying and SuperPole, Edwards was in a class by himself — more than 6/10th of a second faster than the second faster regular qualifier, Franki Chili (Suzuki)
Troy Corser (Aprilia) bounced back from a tenth best qualifying effort to qualify second after SuperPole, with Akira Yanagawa (Kawasaki) and Frankie Chili filling out the front row of the grid for Sunday’s race.Ducati’s draft pick for this week, Troy Bayliss, was very quick, indeed — third after regular qualifying and fifth after SuperPole. It is still puzzling as to why Ducati chose not to use Bayliss at Donnington (a track he knows very well), in the last round — instead, opting for the inconsistent, Luca Cadalora.
