With Travis Pastrana apparently free from his Suzuki relationship for 2004, who will he ride for? Is he capable of riding a full supercross or outdoor motocross series? Maybe not. At least one of his knees has been repeatedly damaged, and damaged badly. Perhaps it can be repaired well enough to handle the pounding, but perhaps not.
Maybe a manufacturer would be happy to have Pastrana stick with freestyle and ride a less demanding racing series like supermotard. If supermotard grows in popularity the way many people expect it to, and if Pastrana proves to be durable enough for supermotard, he could be valuable to any of the major off road manufacturers.
With Pastrana coming off yet another major knee surgery a couple of weeks ago, he may not announce another motorcycle brand affiliation for quite some time.
