As you may know, the World Supercross GP begins in Europe soon and continues with the AMA Supercross series here in the United States next January. Last year, the European rounds of the World Supercross GP lacked the biggest star of them all, Honda’s Ricky Carmichael. As we reported on November 12, Carmichael appeared anxious to participate in the European rounds this year, but his recent knee injury means this will not happen.
Even worse, Chad Reed is one of very few AMA Supercross stars who will participate in the European rounds of the World Supercross series. Many are predicting that Reed will repeat as World Supercross GP champion, with very little competition in the early European rounds giving him a large points lead when the AMA Supercross series begins in Anaheim, California next January.
